Frequently Asked Questions
Massage FAQ's
Q - What are the benefits of a massage?
A - Some of the benefits of massage include: deep relaxation, detoxification of the body,
decreased stress, improved circulation, decreased healing time from injuries, reduced pain,
improved emotional health and wellbeing.
Q - What should I expect when I arrive to my massage appointment?
A - Please be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to get a
head start on your relaxation. Before your first visit you will be asked to fill out a short health
intake form. Your massage therapist will complete a brief verbal interview regarding your chief
complaint and your health history. You will then be asked to get undressed and lay down on the
massage table covering yourself with the top sheet. Don't worry, you are in a safe space and will
not be exposed. You will be draped appropriately throughout your treatment. The only area of
the body that will be uncovered is the area being worked on at that moment. Each massage is
tailored specifically for the client and their needs. Be sure to communicate your needs to your
therapist to ensure the best possible experience. After the massage has concluded, your
therapist will step out to let you get dressed and will come back with a glass of water along with
recommendations of stretches, exercises, dietary or lifestyle modification such that you can
continue your healing process long after you leave the office. Please note, our massages are
strictly therapeutic and non-sexual. Any sexual comments or advances will result in immediate
termination of the session.
Q - How should I expect to feel after the massage?
A - After receiving a massage you may feel blissed out and may experience a bit of fogginess
that we call “massage brain”. You may feel a bit sleepy and very relaxed or extremely energized
and ready to take on the world. Regardless of how you feel immediately after a massage, it is
very common to feel a little sore the next day. This is part of the healing process and completely
normal. Any soreness typically disappears within two days of receiving a massage and you
should feel as good as new.
Q - Do you offer prenatal massage?
A - Absolutely! Prenatal massage is one of our specialties. Please be sure to request a prenatal
massage when booking so that we could properly set up the room before your arrival.
